Yearling- 1.An animal that is one year old or has not completed its second year.
2.A thoroughbred racehorse one year old dating from January 1 of the year in which it was foaled.
I guess it is a respectful term for newbie.

Well I'm a recent subscriber and I don't have one so I dought it too... maybe its for those who have had a susbcription year after year with no gaps. Funny no WC mod has said one way or another yet (hint hint )
