Word of warning for those using AutoCad releases 2002-2006, the previous version of CCleaner will delete registry entries that pertain to your license. I had to go through Autodesk a few months ago after I gave it a try. The entries don't list as AutoCad making them vulnerable. The people at Autodesk went just short of asking me to take a lie detector test before giving me a new registration. It may have been fixed in this release but considering the hassle, I'm going to skip it.

The license is "transferred" from machine to machine via disk or as a file across the LAN. It would not accept the same portable license. I'm not sure why, I think the "flag" said it was already transferred. Based on my discussion with the Autodesk people these registry entries are deliberatly "not" associated with the program to make it hard to propagate illegal copies. Something they've had a lot of trouble with since they eliminated the hardware lock back around 1990. At $3,200 a pop I can understand their reluctance to give me a new number. I have five licenses and I think that made a difference.

Happened to my mate...with his Revit Licence....[also Autodesk]....but it wasn't CCleaner....he was using Adaware, or one of those....fubarred a $5000 proggy....until I suggested what might have done it....not all cookies are 'evil'....

IOW, another example of a legimate user being punished because of piracy, even though NO pirates are affected by such policies. Stupid, absolutely stupid.
