Sliders & Gauges

How to add graphics

Thursday, September 1, 2005 by Grimnir M | Discussion: Skinning

This is an interesting post because I am trying to create a volume slider, however even though I have the graphics made for the slider the object will not except any form of foreground or background images for said slider. Now for some reason I can use a slider or gauge from another widget or object just not my own? Mind you, I can only copy that object in order to use the gauge or slider not create it myself. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Is it possible that I may need to reinstall ObjectMedia for this?
p.s. hope this post is in the right location

Hmm. Are you defining the images in the DXPlayer Configuration dialog? When you select something like a fader or slider that takes images, the Images button becomes active, and you can define them there. Background should be long and skinny, slider shortish and squat, but use images that share a same dimension along the short axis for best result. Also, try BMPs, as I think that's what DXPlayer prefers. I got PNGs to work, but no transparency.

anyway, not exactly sure that's what you were asking.

I'll check and see if thats the problem. I didn't realise that it mainly uses BMP's thanks for the help I'll get back if it doesn't.

It still is not allowing me to use the graphics? Whats strange about that is that I can use sliders or gauges from other widgets but just can't create my own! ggrrr...
