How to Get Rid of Start Button?

So with the help of objectdock and this great forum, I've just about completely transformed my desktop. But I can't figure out how to get rid of the Windows Start button and that whole bottom bar. I realize I can use autohide, but I'm trying to get rid of it altogether so I can put my objectdock on the bottom of my screen ... Is there any way to do this? I'm running Win 2000 by the way.
EDIT: If I can't get rid of it altogether, how can I strip it as much as possible? For instance when I open a new window with my browser, I no longer need a little tab on the bottom Windows bar to tell me it's there, because it shows up in objectdock ... How can I stop it from showing up on the bottom Windows bar?

Objectdock has a [check] option to hide the task bar.
