External Drives in Dock

Wednesday, August 24, 2005 by foomex | Discussion: ObjectDock

Hi there everyone, i tried searching but found nothing

I was wondering if there is some way to AUTOMATIZE my external drives (for instance the two only ones i have, IPOD AND USB KEY DRIVE), so when i connect one, it AUTOMATICALLY pops in my dock (NOT the tabbed one)...

I managed to just place a shortcut, but its always there, even i there is nothing connected, and with one established icon...

it would be SOOOOOOO cool if i could connect my ipod and a little pic of my ipod popped in the dock, or a little pic of my usb and access them just by clicking them...

ANY HELP APPRECIATED!
thanks!

I seriously doubt this could be done with the current OD build. The generic dock acts as a containiner for existing objects - if the object doesn't exist then it can't contain it!

The exception seems to be the systemtray dock, so it seems possible but without a special software update to OD itself to support this feature for media eg a 'drives' dock or similar I can't see how to accomplish this.
