Build your own desktop menu

Stardock RightClick lets you design your own right-click desktop menu. Add program short-cuts, folders, disk space monitors, RSS readers, and virtually anything you can imagine to it. Get it on its own or as part of Object Desktop.
Your desktop is usually covered with windows. No problem, RightClick enables you to assign a hot-key to bring it up any time, any where. It's also fully skinnable and supports adding DesktopX widgets to your menus.
RightClick is easy to use yet very powerful. Menus are created using a straight forward configuration program. Virtually anything one could imagine having in their desktop menu can be done with RightClick.
New to version 1.1:
- Better WindowBlinds skinning support
- Supports embedding DesktopX widgets into menus
- Supports embedding gadgets into menus
Note: RightClick 1.1A was released on 7/27 to address a bug with how folder short-cuts were viewed.

I just updated, seems to work fine. Haven't really checked it out much, but It's a go for me

i love this program too, and don't think i could live without it now...
just updated and it remembered my previous config...hurrah...
two minor niggles so far:-
1. When going to Help-About RightClick it lists the version as 1.01
2. You have to individually select the opacity for each seperate popup menu item

I made sure the versions were updated, but I think there's an About box somewhere that's not resyncing on the server. 7/25/05 16:08 1,589,340 RightClick.exe and you should be all set.

update, and i hope it's just me...
while it's true that rightclick remembered my previous config, when i tried to access a menu item (my computer explorer folder) i got a fatal error and right click shuts down....i had to revert to my previous installation and lost my config...
be careful when upgrading..

I updated too and I also cannot access my computer, my pictures. It just shuts down. Was this bloody thing tested properly before release. Come on Stardock, you are quickly losing friends.

ok, not so happy now....
i have now completely uninstalled rightclick, rebooted my computer, and have now re-downloaded right click...stardock central tells me it is version 1.10.002
when i goto help, about it tells me it is version 1.01, build 733
when i add 'my computer' as a menu item (to open in a folder), rightclick encounters a problem and shuts down with the following error messages:
AppName: rightclick.exe AppVer: 1.0.1.733 ModName: rightclick.exe
ModVer: 1.0.1.733 Offset: 000351ec
i would give more info, but when i goto detailed reports it lists a error message text file being created under windows/temp, but it doesn't exist
wouldn't mind so much if this was a beta release

I've stopped IIS on the servers and made sure the file sync'd so it's reporting 1.10 properly now.

You've added shortcut flyouts to My Computer and My Pictures and it's crashing when you go to them?
If it's reproducible, visit https://www.stardock.com/products/smartexception and follow the directions to install SmartException. Email the .cra and .dmp files in produces in \program files\stardock\smartexception to [email protected].

I was able to add My Computer without a problem... for a moment. I then added My Documents and it crashed as you described above. Then I restarted and tried My Computer and it also crashed in the same manner.
EDIT: Upon restarting again, I see that my menu is now messed up. Some stuff I added is there, other stuff is missing.

Well..this has to be a first. Mine works. I lost nothing and while it still wouldnt apply in the setting to start up on reboot..it did let me make a short cut in documents and settings>User>start-up. I just right clicked there and made shortcut to c drive>program files>StardockRight Click.exe
Before when I did this..the whole Right click config box came up after rebooting and had to be closed each time. This shortcut returned my auto start feature.
Not sure it makes a difference but I kept Right Click program open during update.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon also. I had 1.01 and it would crash when I used something from the "Special Folders" menu...Recycle Bin, My Computer, My Documents, etc. Other shortcuts to programs and folders worked fine. It just seemed to be those. It also would leave a menu just floating on the desk on reboot. I had to go to the Parent menu and click the one that was on the desk and it would disappear. Updated again to the 1.10 version. Still the same problems with the "Special Folders" causing it to crash. No floating menu sitting there now and shortcuts to folders and programs work.
I didn't see how you guys could put out another build with problems after all the other problems that have been going on with these programs, but you did. And put up a wrong build first. The files were different sizes so they had to be different builds.
This just is not the way to run a business. Test this stuff!!! And don't say you have. Obviously not enough with the IP problems, the SDC problems, and now this. I use this program second only to Windowblinds and now half of it doesn't work.Screw this crap. Fix it!

i had the previous version and it worked totally ok...including the special folders...
i am in complete agreement with Boss019...it wasn't tested with nearly enough depth...i feel lost without rightclick, and now i have a version that doesn't work and when this problem is fixed i will have to spend hours getting it back to how it was before....
rightclick is a fabulous program and deserves better than to have such an untested release released ! shakes the faith...

It was tested, for months. And it works perfectly here. We're trying to reproduce the issues you guys are mentioning.
