Moderators do your job...

Thursday, July 21, 2005 by -OZZY- | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues

i think it's strange to see that a skin submitted a couple days later then another getting moderated sooner...
there prolly r different moderators for different sections, but to be honest, i don't care...it's not an excuse...
skins should be moderated by date, no matter the section...ok, that's it...thx

OZZY, theoretically, that is how it should work.  However, not all submission are passed by a single moderator.  There are *many* cases in which there are discussions over the submission prior to approval or rejection.  Some sections also take a lot longer to moderate due to the amount of submissions or the need to test/evaluate a skin or theme prior to approval.

Moderation is not cut and dry.  It's easy to say that something "should" be a certain way when you are not the one doing it

I think the system works fine the way it is.

Take a second and read Jafo's thread "the tip of the iceberg" and you may want to rethink your position.

Youngins don't have any patience and/or understand how the system really works.

Hey WOM, haven't seen you for a while. That's your grand daughter? cool!

Chef Garry knows better than to high-jack a thread but figures it's done anyway.

WOM, this is not about patience...and i know how the system works, how else can i say i would like to see it changed/improved...it's to easy to say something about young people...so what if i'm just 25...this has nothing do with it, get on topic !!
or is it just that older people are like jealous of youth or something...is that why they always have something negative to say about younger people...<---- note : another empty/meaningless comment...to easy..and useless...

and to chef gerry, i don't feel like reading the tip of the iceberg, but i can guess what it's about...and i'm sorry, again i don't care that much...this site isn't somebody's hobby or something, it's a professional site with a lot of paying customers...if someone isn't capable of doing his job, well u know...if there's just to much work, hire more people...(paid or not)

OZZY... Read the thread... you should care, since it relates to exactly what you are talking about.

ozzy, grow up, dude. hire more people? wc is supposedly losing money as it is. stardock pays for the bandwidth from what has been told before. there are people who work on this site every day and are trying to get it 'right' as we speak. i agree, the down-times are moer often than i would like but i understand that not everything in the world is pefect. (insert personal insult here)

Guess I should have qualified that with a ...some youngins, as some like JD don't fit into your catagory. Us old people, like me, Chef and Snidley have been around long enough to understand and can stay calm. Hehe, I'am sure you have nothing for me to be jealous about.

Hi Chef, haven't seen you on MSN. Yes it is.

By the way, if you had read that other thread, then you might have understood and this thread might not have been posted.

This site has never been about "making money" The only reason subscriptions came about was to help defray some of the expense of running a site that became very popular. The bandwidth costs are gi-normous. So, lighten up, and you'll stay young longer.......

scared of what? dude, the last person that scared me was my dad and he died in 1975. i fear nobody. at my age, there is no reason for me to feel fear.

ozzy, i'm not going to waste my time arguing with a kid who's younger than my kids. they tend to think they're right most times, too. the good part is, the older they get, the wiser they and i become.

Not that I think it will matter but this site is not a 'professional site with a lot of paying customers'.  Stardock is, and they are good enough to go a long way toward funding this site.  Most of the people here and most of the content is indeed in the 'hobby' or volunteer category.
