Site Suggestions
Thursday, July 21, 2005 by SecretCloset | Discussion: Community
I was thinking that (as mentioned before), allowing PayPal is certainly a step in the right direction. Even some who have credit cards would rather use PayPal. But the main reason I'm even posting about this, is I think it would be in this site's best interest to offer the ability to buy someone else a subscription. I'm not sure if this has ever been discussed, but this would also be a great oppurtunity for our authors/artists to also be rewarded by their fans. Or even up-and-coming artists who can't afford to get a subscription.
This is just a suggestion.
Any thoughts?

\thomassen, Yes...anyone in random. My artist/author suggestion was just an example of internal-community based support

That is certainly a viable option. But that's not really a "public" way of doing it. I think it should be well known and a visible option.
Let's say you're browsing through the skins one day and you come across a skin that you absolutely love. You click on the author's name and look at 5 other skins created by him/her, and you love them as well! On his/her profile page, "Buy this artist a subscription!" would be awesome.

Although that may be true, it would also encourage authors/artists to release some very good work. And I mean really, right now subscriptions are low. So there really wouldn't be a huge difference if you look at it with your eye.

but.... what if 200 fans sign up to get the same artist a subscription?
