Major Winodows Issues
...And Microsoft Support Sucks
Thursday, July 14, 2005 by KeithMacDonald | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I have tried pressing Debug, Send Error Report and Don't Send Error Report, all to no avail. I use Firefox, so it's lucky I'm able to get online at all.
It only does it sometimes, and I do not wish to reinstall XP. Anyone have any ideas? Edit: It has something to do with the file ole32.dll

...yrag [Gary] is [in many people's opinion] 'the man' when it comes to computer knowlege, and for as long as I can remember ~has only been all too willing to help folks out when it comes to their problems. This he does completely out of kindness, and to my knowlege ~ he expects nothing in return.
You would have done well to listen to what he had to say, ~at the end of which ...a simple "thankyou" or "thanks anyway, I found it" would have gone a long way.
....shame really, and downright discourteous.

Keep in mind, my registry had 300 errors. When I cleaned that out, on top of the other 700 errors I had found and allthe spyware/adware (200 objects), I think that that was the ultimate problem.
For fixing those problems (not the spyware/adware stuff), I reccommend using a program called RegistryFix. (Side note: You might want to register it, because it'll only fix 58 errors.)

Listen to WrecklessEric. I know from your profile that you are very young, so I know a lot of learning is coming your way. But one thing to stop and think about now is that on the other side of these replys are not bots tied to keyboards but people, some happy, some sad, some nearly burned out on forums. Instead of saying what you will to some blank reply box take some consideration to what he human being on the other side of the thread is experiencing. People like Gary who are so qualified and so willing to help are also rather rare. He has helped tons and tons and tons of people on this site. Like as not, he would probably have advised you to try a registry cleaner like he did me the other night, but he was working through the simple steps first. Not everyone can go out and buy some utility. And Windows issues are IE issues to some extent and visa versa.
Most important think of yourself. You solved the problem easy enough this time, but what about next time? I think people who remember your actions will think two or three times before helping. You sound like a very bright person, and I am looking forward to the time that you know a little more about people and forums.
