Should skinners update & rebuild or just build new?
Updates & re-builds. What do you look for in a skin?

Ok, here's my question for the community.
I spend a lot of time looking at how my skins can be improved & updating original skins in the same way many other skinners tend to do.
My question is, should skinners re-build & update their original skins or should we, as skinners, use our improved knowledge & improving skills on producing all new skins.
It's good to see new skins being added to the library but then again, if you like a skin that maybe has a few small bugs, it's also good to see these skins being fixed & updated.
What are your thoughts on updates & re-builds?

Depends on the skin & which version of WB it was made for & how popular & how many would like it updated & whether the skinner is of mind to & so on.
But all in all, seems that going back and tweaking and fixing and updating would also contribute to improved knowledge and skills.
I could be wrong since I haven't skinned yet.

sometimes popularity and whether users like the skins can be a problem when they do not comment on the skin. For example; I would love to know what people think of my skins but, I find maybe 1 comment if im lucky.
How do we find out if there are any problems with the skin if nobody bothers to tell us?

I agree. I find that I normaly get comments from the people that download the windowblinds skins but I've uploaded an object dock, (complete theme), & a rainy. people are downloading but not one single comment.
So I'll say it again, I agree !!. Some kind of feedback would be nice, good or bad !

I think if it's a very popular skin, it should be updated, not only for fixing things, but to make it more complete, as WB adds more features.
I know I'm thrilled when an old favorite is updated. I've been using Liquid2 since it was recently updated, for example.
If it's not so popular, it's probably best that you move on to something else.

Another thing to consider is the creators skills. If the skinner has learned more or improved on their skills with their skins then take the old skin and beaf it up a bit. Or as I have a habit of doing. Start with the original skin and end up creating a whole new one from it. I dont' know if its how my creativity works but. I start with something pritty simple and by the time I'm done it turns out to be completely different yet cooler! a good example of that would be my current widget 'SimpleX QB' which uses bits and pieces from the core series widgets. Now compare that to my first widgets 'CybrLock QB, CybrLock MP' and things have changed. So to the point; If you like your skin and you feel it could use some tweeking then go for it. If you want to make something new and go back later even better 
I still wish people would comment on our stuff though.. It would be nice to know if my SimpleX widget sucks or not lmao..

you know I made a mistake; 'CybrLock' is supposed to be 'CybrLok' oops...
the point with that is that CybrLok doesn't have the 'fancy' techniques like SimpleX. I learned from a comment that I needed to add in sound affects and better animations to my widgets, which i did with SimpleX. I also improved on the presentation of the widgets to make them more appealing to the user. BUT, knowing if users are having problems with the function would be great to know so that I can atleast fix the problem and update the object. anyone else feel the same?

But if the skin is not very good, it should be just abandoned.
