To release something under a GNU/GPL ....you must be absolutely certain you own sole rights to do so.

If, for example part of your skin is from another person's commercial content then you are seriously undermining copyright...

OK .....

I'd send them an email with a link to this site telling them to check out your theme. They should be happy since it helps their (WB'S) business by attracting more attention to the movie.

I'm agree to Admin Jafo.......you must be absolutely certain you own sole rights to do so.

And as I told it before, your WB is very good.

One of the reasons that you haven't gotten any reply from WB could be due to your english. It's not very good, almost seems like it's comming from a translation tool. This might discourage them to reply. Try to get some help from someone to make an email with better english grammar. It might help.

NSOrg Design Team  ...yes, It looks like you do have consent to use the icons....but include that email/consent with your skin....but DO NOT post it publicly on this forum.

I doubt he wants his personal details posted publicly here....

That is not true "GNU/GPL ....you must be absolutely certain you own sole rights to do so" GNU/GPL License That mean not making own, can you other user Image use must permission need! And can you other company name use must need permission. I am example you e107.org he not making One man a Group making This (e107) php script and also he added e107 php script in other group making php script code also use ok!

Methinks he thinks he got Jafo.
"GNU/GPL ....you must be absolutely certain you own sole rights to do so"
Since the gpl applies to the software and you are given rights under the license you don't need sole rights to do so.
or something to that effect.
But I believe he's agreeing you need permission for someone else's image or company name use.
His example appears to be e107 php script being used to make another php script (ie {eg?} using someone else's to create your own)

To release something under the GNU/GPL you MUST own sole rights to YOUR PART OF WHAT YOU RELEASE.  It is 'expected' that all else included was the sole ownership of the person releasing the original stuff....

Example.....

LoneRunnr created Litestep.

He owned its entity...outright....but released it under GNU.

This means I can alter its code and release it under GNU ALSO.

I cannot alter Microsoft's XP code and release it under GNU because I do not own the original code.

Litestep themes are NOT [specifically] released under GNU [but can be]....eg...those with the Installer technically HAVE TO BE...as they are distributed with the Proggy which MUST be GNU itself.

No-one 'got me'.....if anything they just failed the translation....

NSOrg Design Team

To talk about this specific Windowblind skin....

You cannot distribute it under GNU if it contains works/images created by another person....unless that person has specifically given permission for his works to be distributed under GNU.

That reality is not open to debate.

If and when you DO distribute/release your skin under GNU you are obliged to include the GNU Licence with the distribution.  [currently the submission to Wincustomize.com does not include it].  I believe that is one condition of the process....

Admin Jafo told me Wincustomize.com does not support GNU License. These sites only support Own copyright or any company copyright License. >>> GNU you are obliged to include the GNU License with the distribution. {Admin Jafo)

I am sorry to distribution my skin GNU License under. That is not my full own making then I am sorry to you and sent a email to your The Skins Factory user email address and he not permission me him Batman Begins WMP 10 skin some image use (I am only 2 Image use for Batman Begins WMP 10 skin).

But I have permission D. Arnaes for the use of his 2 icons on the shell images.

And I am told Admin Jafo Why my Batman Begins WB show Skins Awaiting lists Why not you delete that, because you not like GNU License.

Thanks

Unfortunately if The Skins Factory will not give permission to use their images in your theme then you cannot use it. That means that under the GNU/GPL Lincense you have not secured copyright permission from the authors to use their copyrighted work in your creation. End of story.

Wincustomize will not allow your theme to be published if you do not permission of the authors to use their images. It is as simple as that. My suggestion is to take the time and redo the theme with your own images. It will look better and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you actually created something on your own.
