Searching for Lost Website

Wednesday, June 22, 2005 by Andrew Powell | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hey all,

Would appreciate any help anyone can offer with this, its a long shot, but here goes.

Has anyone run across a japanese (i think) link farm website  with a short-ish domain name? (best i can remember it was a page with a white background and had color coded categories)

And to clarify...

[13:35] <MikeB314> I'm not sure I understand what you mean by link farm?
[13:36] <andrew_> a site that allows users to post links
[13:36] <andrew_> with a short desc

Gracias

From Wikipedia:
On the World Wide Web, a link farm is a large group of web pages created that contain hyperlinks to one another or a specific other page. Link farms are normally created by programs, rather than by human beings.

The main purpose of a link farm is to deceive the indexing programs of Internet search engines that assign rankings according to the number of pages that link to a specific page. If the link farm works as planned, the search engine will believe that the promoted page is hugely popular because of all the pages that link to it and give it a high ranking. Search engine operators consider link farms an abuse and attempt to detect them, to remove them from their indices or penalize their content rank. Free For All link pages are a particular type of link farm.

The sites which I use most often are:
1. linkfarm Link
2. Jamprice Link

Hope this would work .. cheers

There  was one called the fave cave, but I saw this notice last time:

NEW: The otherwise excellent Windows XP SP2 disables the API call this service requires. No known workaround. Sorry folks. I've heard good things about the free FavoriteSync, but I haven't tried it myself, so I can make no guarantees. You can still View your previously saved bookmarks, and might even be able to File|Save them to disk and use File|Import to import them.

It's in my woman contract (section 947 paragraph 84):  Subterfuge and evasion concerning n shall increase exponentially as the value of x approaches that of y.   n being age, x being the number of earth days since conception, and y being infinity.
