need help for WMP sync to player

Thursday, June 16, 2005 by werewolf | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I only want music files in a sub-folder called 'music' in my portable media player (pmp). When I set WMP to NOT set up a directory heirarchy, it copies all the files into the root directory of my pmp, which has restrictions on number of files. If I set WMP to set up the directory heirarchy, I get a full gig of music, but all the songs are in the artist folders the way I have them set up on my hard drive. eg: j:\music\artist name\album name(s)\songs... I just want j:\music\songs...

I have an autoplaylist generate 1 gig's worth of tunes. Drag n' drop through explorer doesn't work.

How can I get WMP to do this?

Thanks

BTW, I ended up opening Explorer and as the root of the player started filling up, I moved the songs into the g:\music folder. Repeat, repeat until it was full. Certainly not an elegant solution.
