Recovered Stettings error on start up.

Hi y'all. I've got a problem with with ObjectDock that causes a "Recovered Settings" error message when it starts up. This occurs even when I've already saved the theme & quit OD before shutdown/restarting. Only after I click OK on the error will it load, but with only 1 of my 3 docks!!! The other 2 docks totally disappears from the My Docks list too. OD seems to reset my theme files in the \Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus folder. I've even tried setting the attributes of these .ini files to Read Only. Doing so I retain my docks but now instead of 1 error message I get 3, one for each dock!!! Please please please help. Is there a command line option to ignore errors or something like that? Thanks in advance.

Please list some more information on your theme, what version of OD+ you are using, and what other programs you may be running.
Are you keeping all the needed theme files in the ObjectDock sub-directory? Are you using a System Tray dock?
Also, if you delete the cache, does the default theme load correctly, allow you to shut down correctly, and reload correctly?
Some more specific information would be great to allow someone to help.
Please list some more information on your theme, what version of OD+ you are using, and what other programs you may be running.

I'm running OD+ 1.11 build 510, backgound apps include FarStone VirtualDrive 7.0 and Trend Micro Internet Security 2005. I'm just using the standard up, left & right docks, all non-tabbed. ObjectDock support told me to try deleting the 3 .ini files & start from scratch. I tried that & the default unmodified dock loaded without any problems for 10+ restarts. The problem only occurs 3 or 4 restarts after I add new docks & drag icons into them. I'm using a P4 2.8, 512MB, 160GB SATA, Intel 915PGN desktop board, Leadtek 6600 PCIe, WinXP Home SP1, DirectX 9.0c, nVidia Forceware v71.84 (WHQL Certified), Intel mobo driver v6.2.1.1001 & Realtek Hi-Def Audio Driver v5.10.0.5034. I'm guessing maybe OD+ has some version conflicts with some other system files. What I haven't tried yet is running a fresh WinXP installation with just OD+ installed to confirm my guess coz I've just reinstalled my Windows like 2 weeks ago & running it without any problems prior to installing OD+

Try excluding OD from being scanned by Trend Micro. No idea if this will fix it, but worth a shot.

If you are still having problems, you might try building the theme one dock at a time.
For example:
Unload ObjectDock > delete the ObjectDockPlus folder in "\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder > reload ObjectDock > right-click ObjectDock icon in system tray > select My Docks... > create one new dock > hightlight and remove the two default docks > create your links on the one dock (I suggest right-clicking the dock and selecting "Add>New Shortcut" - use browse to create the link method whenever possible) > save the theme > test theme by rebooting a few times.
If all goes well, create a second dock > save theme again from second dock's settings dialog > test theme again by rebooting a few times.
If all still goes well, create a third dock > save theme again from third dock's settings dialog > test theme again....
From your comments text, I am going to make the assumption that your are comfortable with using the computer - so the obvious process of elimination would commence if you run into the problem after adding a second or third dock, by removing the dock > recreating the dock > adding one entry at a time, testing after each addition to track the offending entry.
Note - I only drag entries to dock from the Start Menu panel (Control Panel, My Computer, My Documents), or from the My Computer explorer for Drives, Program Files folder, etc. - all other entries I use the "right-click dock > Add.." method.
I hope this helps in some way.

One more thing that I've forgotten to mention is that I've disabled a bunch of WinXP Services that I dun use to improve my startup time. Could it be that? Is there any WinXP Services that r absolutely necessary for OD+ to function properly?
