Is it allowed?

Is it allowed to upload a 256colors or even 16-bit preview for the bootskin whilst the actual boot is only in 16 colors?
Cause i've seen it happen more than one times and i'm just curious. Cause i find it more honest on behalf of the author to show the actual outcome and not to try to fool propable downloaders with high quality previews and disappointing actual content.

I've always used the original 16 color as a preview. But it's not being required so I uploaded my last one as is before applying 16 colors (only because sometimes when scaled down, it just looks terrible; even though it's not).
But I agree, it should be enforced on "AS IS" bases and for everybody.
PS: I have no problem to update it, if requested.

| Being a jpg it's going to be full colour...but it SHOULD be derived from the 4bit boot...as a realistic interpretation of what the boot actually looks like. |
That's what i meant to say. Shouldn't it be some kind of a obligatory rule for the preview to represent the actual skin?
| Guilty as charged. |
Not trying to charge anyone here, just making an observation.
Btw your works are damn fine even when displayed as they are. No need for cheating.

I find the full-colour 'cheats' to be misrepresentational at best and down-right deceiving at worst...
