Sexing Birds

Friday, May 27, 2005 by Tarkus | Discussion: Community

Until now I never fully understood how to tell the difference between male and female birds. I always thought it had to be determined surgically... until now.

Below are two birds. Study them closely..... See if you can spot which of the two is the female.. It can be done. Even by one with limited bird watching skills.

Actually, the bird on the right is male: "where's my dinner?" cos he's too lazy to get it himself. Sadly, that's a fact in the human domain as well (and I'm male).

And Tarkus, your original comment was somewhat out of line, you wouldn't speak to your mother like that, and an apology wouldn't go astray. Surely that would be far better than continuing to trade further unpleasantries. Common decency and respect costs you nothing, so how about it, mate? Whilst some may be amused by this situation, my guess is that the majority are not. By all means have a joke, but please, not at anyone elses expense.

So men are from Mars and women are from Venus? Truth is, we men would still be swinging from the trees if not for their positive influence to civilise us.

Poor Tarkus...he cracks a joke at himself and every one has to jump to conclusions and beat him up about it.

I like swinging from trees, and pox upon the woman who wants me to settle down to a treehouse and look longingly out the window at the beautiful branches waiting to be swung through.

In regards to all of the animosity; let's all try to have the shortest of memories in that regard. It is physically, spiritually, and emotionally unhealthy to carry anger around for very long.

Thank you Starkers. You are so right. Thats all it would have taken.

Thanks for caring about our welfare. I do not hold any anger towards anyone. All I have to do is consider the source.

And I would like to bring something into the light myself. Any lasting argument, or ongoing argument I have had on a thread here have involved WebGizmos. He has turned up at my arguments like a bad apple, ready to defend and hold the hand of the man I am having a disagreement with, which in reality have only been a couple. Instead of minding everyone elses business, he should mind his own. I think all the people on the site are capable of handling their own problems. If not, there is the option of going to the administration. As I said before. If he would have stayed out of it, it would have eliminated all the off topic comments to this thread but 2 or 3.
It's time men to come into the present and out of the caves. Woman are here to stay. And without us, you wouldn't even exist.Perhaps it is not our shortcoming that men do not understand us, but your own inability to see beyond self.

...

See comment #3, which was the first comment that was off topic. If a person pokes fun at HIMSELF, (which he was obviously doing) i see no reason for berating him. There was no vulgar language. If the word "porn" offends to this degree how can cope in life? We hear and see it (edited of course) on the nightly news and the mention of it is on prime time TV. I've even heard it mentioned in churches. It was a joke directed at himself (asked my wife to be sure), which to me shows a good sense of humor. If we can't laugh at ourselves why bother laughing at all.

I don't know or care about any other grievances you might have with TARKUS, I am only commenting on the one that was brought up. Seems to me that this should have been handled privatly. You could have created a false acct (as others have done) if you didnt want your email acct to be visible.

There are many who dont want to see bickering here, though I am not one of them, (I found it very entertaining...and enlightening). It helps those of us with a dry and sarcastic sense of humor know who we can joke with, if nothing else.
Erk.

not that I want to see it, but if it's here I'll read it
entertaining - most of the time
enlightening - depends on who's commenting

I THINK I GOT IT!

It was a trick question, wasn't it?

They're both female.

The one on the right is the mother-in-law.

How is poking fun at myself having a joke at someone elses expense?

Taken from the thread in which this childishness psychotic attack all started !

The joke was directed at myself anyway, so I'm not sure why anyone would get bent out of shape over it. I think some people just look for stuff to be offended by.

Exactly what part of this does anyone NOT understand.

No one is owed an apology in any way, shape, or form. Except for Tarkus who is owed a huge apology for this uncalled for attack for something that was directed at HIMSELF! Get a grip already!!!!!

Any continuation of this...which is...and has been...completely uncalled for...is nothing more than psychotic flaming. This kind of childish flaming must be banned from this forum. Tarkus made a joke at HIMSELF...NO ONE ELSE. What part of that is NOT understood? This childishness has taken this original topic WAY OFF TOPIC! It has nothing to do with anything because the "imagined verbal attack" was not made towards anyone except for the person that made it in the first place...towards HIMSELF!

Has everyone here flipped out and jumped on the flaming wagon or what!?

uh, without men, you wouldn't exist, either. Nobody said you had shortcomings. I said you're different. If you are insinuating that I cannot see beyond myself, then all I can say is

Not everyone...

Sheeeeesh people...SD too??

We are all WC members here..

Has everyone already forgotten the thread that Bones2112 started?

Thinking about what you say in a forum post. I visit this site everyday, and I constantly see people verbally abusing each other. Is it too much too ask that we get along with each other? It's okay to have a different opinion and disagree with other people, but is it necessary to bash and ridicule your opponent on the forums? Where is the community that I first visited 2 years ago? People went out of their way to help others back then, not so much now though it seems. I just wish members would remember that there are people on the other side of your monitors out there on the net, and these people are just that.. people. Show show some courtesy and respect to your fellow site members!! It doesn't cost a thing.

I know, you are probably thinking to yourself right now, what the hell does he know, go away why don't you. But I am a subscriber, and I pay to interact with members on WC, just like a lot of other members, and I am here to stay. WC is supposed to be the premier skinning community on the net, so lets get that old community spirit back, shall we?

Hopefully it's enough of a reminder...

Another thread lowered into the gutter. Why can't you people learn the meaning of manners, politeness and respect?

Try being nice to each other - you might get to like it
