These guys have made a lot of great screen savers, but this latest one is certainly among their best!

Barnacles. I liked the one ring - now I gotta try the lantern (trying the freebies 1st).

This is gonna end up with me spending money, isn't it Tarkus?

Heh. Probably.

TBH, the only screen saver I've actually bought was SereneScreen, as far as I can remember.

But I'll probably eventually buy some of those from 3planesoft. I like the fact that they give you a good discount if you buy more than one, and if you subscribe to their newsletter, you get even more of a discount.

Yeah, I recently found 3Planesoft from another forum site (gaming-related) and am really impressed. I've been using their LotR - One Ring free screensaver and it's just incredibly well done.

Tarkus...Today I was in BestBuy checking out a hard-drive and I walked by this monitor that had the coolest aquarium screensaver I"ve seen since the SereneScreen. When I asked the tech there where he got it he said it came with WindowsXp Home Edition. Well, I know mine didn't have that so I'm assuming it's coming with the latest releases.

The screensaver was very clean...in that there was very little in the way of plants and such...the small rocks in the bottom of the screen were sortof a bright blue in color...and the fish swimming around were a tad better than the ones in the SereneScreen saver. I've been hunting all over the net for this one but haven't found it yet...if it's even possible.

But I know if you saw it you'd love it!

That is SereneScreen. The demo comes with XP Home, or at least with the Plus pack. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/plus/screensavers.asp

When was the last time you checked out SereneScreen? It's being updated all the time, and I've yet to find a better aquarium simulation, though some beat it in certain areas.

Nope...thats not it...I have SereneScreen...bought the disc of it...and I have several updates to it...and I have the Plus pack as well...the one I saw was completely different. If you look at the gravel in the SereneScreen it looks like regular gravel...the one I saw had a sortof bright blue gravel which was actually more like stones than gravel. The fish were also different, which is really hard to explain, but they had a tad more realism to them when they moved.

If you find a serenscreen with blue gravel post a link or send it to me so I can see it. I'd love it if it actually was serenescren...would make life much easier.

One way or another I'm hopefully going to find out how to get that one and as soon as I do I will let you know.

jimkraz...That must be it then...I never thought to ask him which version of Windows,,,but since he said the Home Edition I figured he knew. And now that you mention it...yes...they were goldfish. But I would love to somehow get a copy of that screensaver! My email address is my nick at msn.com

SereneScreen's parent company sells a goldfish screen saver that's pretty good, but I don't see any blue gravel, at least not from their screenshots.

Yeah I saw that one Tarkus...I wish you could have seen the one I saw. I don't know if it was the fish...the gravel...or just the look of it. It was just cool.

I wish I'd have seen it too, WebGizmos. I love aquarium screen savers. I have several, but keep going back to SereneScreen. Jim Sachs is an artist.

Here's a few interesting ones if your into different screensavers.Link

I tried the "bugs" screensaver out and it works great...you can have them eat through your desktop and use a background or color for what appears underneath.

The "reallyslick" screensavers are pretty cool as well. Make sure you download the latest release where you get all of them in one zip file.

There's one on this page Link "ZoneRings" thats really cool and you get a ton of different ones in it. Really nice ones too.
