Grayscale desktop

I like the colors when windows changes themes

Wednesday, May 18, 2005 by MyPaq | Discussion: Community

Hi all - I'm new, sorry
When I change from one theme to another, windows xp gradually looses colors and shows the desktop gray scaled until the theme is changed successfully. I really like this 'skin' but do not know how to keep it gray scaled. Is this a video driver thing...? Can it be set /hacked somewhere? I really liked the good old times when monitors where still black and white (Yes, I'm old enough to remember this).

Many thanks for reading this.

Using windowblinds custom coloring support will get you what you want.

Thanx master - this was the kick in the right direction. Lots and lots of functions to play with. This will take some time....
Thanx again.

Ok, I played with it and did not find what I was looking for.

I found a function to adjust the skin color, but not to remove ANY color from ANY application. In other words - all I want to see on my monitor is eather white, gray or black.

That's how Micro$oft does it during theme change and shutdown. However they do it briefly, I want to keep it that way.
