Microsoft: Caught Between a 64-Bit Rock and a Hard Place?

Microsoft is moving full-steam-ahead with plans to make not just Windows, but a number of its major applications, available in 64-bit versions. But is the move coming too late for folks at the high end, and too soon for those in the SMB camp? Microsoft watchers are starting to evaluate more deeply Microsoft's 64-bit claims and promises. Meanwhile, speaking of 64-bit, Microsoft made available on Friday SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4, which not only provides the latest fixes and patches for Microsoft's database, but also enables it to run on 64-bit Windows platforms.

Hmmm, just wondering. May be it is time I look at a mac again. Seems to me that Microsoft has cornered it self with it's corporate blinders once again. I had high expectations for Longhorn and the 64 bit system. Not sure if this is the system I want to own any more.

There's always Windows XP64. It's now ready for primetime. I'm looking into possibly getting it. I'm not convinced I want to move to Longhorn.

bah xp 64 , id be happy to run it , if someone would write a driver for my cable modem , running in 64 bit is great but im not going to give up the internet for it !
