With ObjectDock Plus version - you have the option of creating a "Normal dock" (no tabs), and/or a "Tabbed dock" (tabs).
If you want just one dock with tabs, create a tabbed dock and then delete the normal dock.
There are some differences in the docks with reference to functionality - such as: (1) normal docks can show running tasks - expanding as tasks are added, and (2) tabbed docks allow multiple tabs to keep the dock size reasonable, and also allow for a "drawer-like" behavior when docked to an edge.
Experimentation is part of the experience, so I will leave it at that, unless you have some specific questions - just post here again, and someone will help you.

To add a tab to a tabbed dock, open the OD Properties dialog for the tabbed dock > Tabs & Styles > AddTab. The rest should be obvious....
