SKS or Not

Quote from one of Essorant's threads.....
You lot are all so SkinStudio centric... !!

I already knew that Essorant didn't use SKS to make skins, so this makes me wonder who amongst y'all use SKS or not to make skins? Also while we're at it, which graphics proggie(s) do you use along side?

I use SKS and PSP7 and I am almost, not quite, completely rid of using MS Paint for quick cut-n-paste functioning with SKS....I still haven't used the template function in SKS to do this.

When I get around to making a theme which includes a WB, and not just icons and a wall or two - I plan to use SKS.

I was fortunate to find a reasonably priced Photoshop 6 and then bought the Photoshop 7 upgrade (saved a couple hundred there), and have CorelDRAW - so those are what I will use.

I also have painter for some additional "pizzazz" - is that a word?

I use SKS and PSP7

Amen to that!

I 'hate' making the graphics but i love putting a WB together with SKS
(I more or less know SKS back to front - and back again)

I'm the complete reverse. I love making the design, but find it too tedious to assemble the skin. Hence only one completet skin many years ago and alot of half done ones.

I use Photoshop (currently CS) and SKS. I wouldn't know of all the features availible when making WB skins if it wheren't for SKS. Is there any SDK out? All I've seen has been an incomplete one.

If it wasn't for SKS, I don't think I would've started making WB skins. Since using SKS, I've warmed up to the nitty-gritty .uis code a bit more, and often do adjustments in the code window of SKS. But still, it makes things much easier...with the image names and the like. By hand, you need to make sure each file name is correct...what a pain that must be. SKS is my 2nd favorite Stardock program now...

Oh, and I use Photoshop7 for all my graphics...

I made my first WindowBlinds skin using BuilderBlinds..... SkS and PSP 8.10. I use MS Paint for absolutely nothing.

Yes same here. I was looking at my first skin over easter and noticed the Skin Info, "Made with BuilderBlinds" and the WB version was set to 200. (though I think it really was designed for version 3, cant remember right now.) My perception of time isn't very good...

PSP7

That was supposed to be PSP8 not PSP7....brain cramp

SKS did two things for me....made it so that learning how to make a skin was relatively easy and systematic and forced me to learn something about graphics. Which I am very much happy about.
