Were you fooled ;-) ?

Some interesting display effects that Mac users seem to be fond of, as an example: http://files.macbidouille.com/transparent/pages/gallery_29767_11_13892.html

There're more here: http://files.macbidouille.com/transparent/

That is cool, but I wonder how practical?, not to mention distracting?..
You could watch TV through your monitor..LoL..other than having the TV card turned on..

While I agree that it is pretty cool, who wants to see the wall behind the moniter? Who wants the person sitting opposite you on the train to see all your files as you work? And what about Desktop Customisation!? No wallpaper apart from the stuff on the walls. Argh! No, i'm happy with mine thanks. But it is cool.

One assumes these are just quaint manips...

My plan once was to have my wall be a photo of the inside of the monitor case...as if it had no CRT in it at all....

Hmm I could do it. I think. Just put lid down, take picture and hopefully cat stayed the whole time I transfer the picture and set it as wallpaper and take another picture.

With static area it's much easier, I would think.

Hm.. I seems that people don't realise that the screen isn't actually transparent. Nor is this a photoshop effect. They have taken a photo of their room without the monitor, (prolly in a tripod or something else that makes the camera stay still) then they cropped the picture and applied it as their background. Then taking a new photo of the room with the screen in place, giving the effect of a transparent screen.

LoL..Well if thats the case there sure are ALOT of bored people out there...

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of just having a web-cam or something relative set up to loop the image back to the screen..but really..whats the point?

I suppose it's just one of them thoughts that, when they hit you, you think "That'd be funny. But I won't do it. It's quite silly really. ... Right,... where did I put my camera?"

Jafo > there's a widget by _Martin_ called desktop crack that I thought would look great with some CRT hardware behind it. Just never got around to finding some.

A photo of what was behind the monitor as that background would be interesting too.

They may be fakes, but I do plan on breaking out the back of my TFT screen, 1) but I need to get one first; and 2) after the warranty expires. Or should I do it while I still have warranty?
