Long delay opening folders ?
ObjectDock Folders (what's happening, and can it be corrected )

I have created two separate folders on my desktop, one for downloads and another for misc. program shortcuts.I then dragged them onto ObjectDock. These two folders take quite a while longer to open than everything else . My question is what is causing the delay and can I correct the problem ?

Thanks for the quick reply and suggestions but " NO GO " I have dragged other folders from various areas on my C:, D:, E: partitions and the delay in opening exists with all of them. As I said it only happens with folders whether they're empty or not. Every other function with ObjectDock works perfectly. By the way these folders do open up normally without any hesitation when sitting on my desktop. I was wondering if there is anyway of creating a shortcut to a folder by using the ObjectDock menu or can you only create shortcut to executable files. Another thing is, I added the same folder to ObjectDock 5 times and each one got slower than the next. I did this to prove that the shortcuts for folders actually do take longer to open. So again if there is anyway to create an empty folder right on the ObjectDock itself would I'm sure resolve this issue for me but I'm still open for any other ideas.One last thing my system is loaded so it's nothing to do with resources.

I'm having the exact same issue, and am also interested in a solution. In the interim, I have simply changed the folder option to "show folder in a menu" since it was taking up to 60 seconds to open the folders otherwise.

Sounds a bit strange. You should be able to type the path in the "Link" text box to create the shortcut (i.e., "C:\Documents and Settings\Doug\Desktop\Downloads" - or whatever you want.)
If the problem is contained to folders, and you have already tried clearing your cache by deleting any ObjectDock folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder, then I would suspect some sort of setting in the Folder Options, or Dock Settings.
If you can't see the Local Settings indicated above, go to "Tools>Folder Options>View tab" and select "Show hidden files and folders", then click "Apply". If you want, you can also use the "Restore Defaults" buttons on the General and View tabs as well.

If you have not saved the theme, do so. Then unload ObjectDock, defragment the drive, and reload ObjectDock.
If you are still having problems, test the Desktop folders by doing the following:
Try removing the links from the dock first, then create a new Downloads and a new Misc. folder in say "My Documents".
Copy or Move the contents of the folders on the desktop to the new folders.
Now drag the new folders to the dock, and save the theme - then test functionality.
Not knowing what your settings are for the dock, this is all I have to start.
