Want a quick lesson on how easy it is to create your own media player? Check out this video tutorial that's less than 5 minutes long using DesktopX 3. And if you have DesktopX Pro, you can export your media players as stand alone programs to send to anyone with Win2K/XP.

I made my first one after reading your tutorial Brad........ it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. So now I will try and produce some decent graphics for a more polished version. What i WOULD like to know, is how to make the song title scroll across the player, or if it's even possible in DX? ( I just know you are going to say that it can be done with CODING.....aaargh!!)

I seem to be missing something. I've watched the video 4 times, and I still don't know how you loaded any songs. (It appears they were already loaded as soon as you created the object.) All I can get mine to do is open WinAmp, which isn't my default player in the first place. Why is it doing that?

ahhhh... beginning to make more sense of it. WinAMp, and QCD (my default) are grouped together in the player list, and it seems QCD forgot. I had to set it as default again, and now I'm able to use the Open Folder button. I may actually make my first working DX widget before I'n through.

Is there a way to have it play just one specific file (making it similar to a flash player you find on some bands' websites)? Basically in effect, bundle the track into the .exe and have it play only that song?
