Menus not being skinned

Wednesday, March 9, 2005 by l275M281324357 | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Hi all,

I have WB 4.5, free version. Lately I have noticed that several of my system menus were not skinned with WB, but only their colors were changed, no matter what skin I used. Here are a few screenshots. LinkLink

The strange thing is, my programs menu (Start -> All Programs) is correctly skinned. Link.

I have uninstalled WindowBlinds, rebooted, and reinstalled it to no avail. And yes, I have the appropriate options checked to where they shouldbe skinned. Link(Or do I?)

Thanks!!

Mine does the same thing, I think it depends on the ability of the program to be skinned. For example, my right click menus are skinned on mIRC, but not on Firefox.

That makes sense. I forgot to mention, though, that I was right-clicking on the desktop.

BTW Firefox has its own theme system that overrides WB, so I don't think they can be skinned.

It looks like you're using the free shareware version, I'm using the enhanced version. That could also be a factor, but since it's been so long since I've used the free version I can't remember anymore if the menus were skinned. I know the scrollbars aren't skinned in the free version, could be the same for the menus.

Advanced Controls which menus are part of, require enhanced version, it is worth the 20 dollars.

Ah. I see now. On the basic settings page, it does say the enhanced version is required. I'm sure it's well worth the $20.

Thanks for your help!

Instead of buying windowblinds for $20.00 I highly suggest Object Desktop for $49.95.
