Saving settings before upgrading to plus

Monday, March 7, 2005 by morwyn | Discussion: Stardock Support General

I liked ObjectDock so much I decided to upgrade to ObjectDock Plus. I am worried I will lose all my settings during the installation of the plus version. Is there some way that I can backup my current dock settings so I don't lose my current setup? Any suggestions would be helpful!

thanks,
morwyn

Save your theme by opening the dock properties > save theme as....

Then open your Object Dock folder and copy the following folders to a save location:

Object Dock\Themes
Object Dock\Backgrounds
Object Dock\"Any other folder which has png's in it"

Note: I believe that these folders don't get removed if you unistall the program (I think the unistaller actually asks you wether you want to remove them or not). However, it is always a good thing to back up before you upgrade.

Note2: If you plan to install Obect Dock to another place than it is now, make sure you save your theme by packaging it (package theme as...)
