Bits and Pieces Of Wisdom...........

Thursday, March 3, 2005 by Old_Crab | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

O.K. .......Got you alls attention. Now....just for hoots ...what do you think of starting a thread with little bits of wisdom? From authors, scientists, teachers, revered ones (holy seers and such) and of course ....er ummm hmmph...politicians.

Examples

"Logic is like the sword - those who appeal to it, shall perish by it."
- Samuel Butler

"It is always the secure who are humble."
-G.K. Chesterton

"We can forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."
- Plato

"When you are arguing with a fool, make sure he isn't doing the same thing."
- Anonymous

I do hope everyone has some wisdom to share...........as always............Grand Raspberries to all and to all a good night or whatever.

Thanks SD, but you are too kind,(I am my own WORST critic..::laughs: it's rough and dirty, defintely amature in nature and lacks that "professional" flavor that some have a "knack" for producing..

But hey, I had fun making it, and I'll have fun making Ver2, which hopefully turns out a little better.

Hmmm, Beatles right?...::laughs:: almost fits into the Music thread, but yeah, those three little words are often forgotten by myself and there is *ALOT of wisdom in them.

Free from gross passion or of mirth or anger
constant in spirit, not swerving with the blood,
garnish'd and deck'd in modest compliment,
not working with the eye without the ear,
and but in purged judgement trusting neither?
Such and so finely bolted didst thou seem.

If there were in the world today any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have paradise in a few years.
