"running application indicators on shortcuts" help please
Friday, February 25, 2005 by rygar2 | Discussion: ObjectDock
i want to check "...and if clicked, shortcut should show currently running..."
but when i do, it takes two clicks to open winamp, i'd rather it one.
one click on aim opens my open aim windows--not what i want. two will do that and open my buddylist.
and one click to open up firefox, direct connect, and the folder--which is what i want for all of them.
if i uncheck "...and if clicked, shortcut should show currently running..."
one click will open the current instance of winamp (because of a winamp setting, it doesn't open up a new copy)
one click opens up my buddylist and NO away messages
one click opens the folder, direct connect, and firefox--but new instances, which i don't want.
how can i get it so that everything will take one click to open, and use the already open instances if there's one open? without my AIM windows popping up?
sorry that was so long. trying to be descriptive.
thanks!

all quicklaunch/shortcut items lead to their .exe targets, not to shortcuts.

i realized i can still have the setting checked to open current instances. the reason winamp and AIM take two clicks to pop up are because they minimize to my system tray (which i dont display), and not the taskbar. if i set winamp to minimize to the taskbar, it will only take one click from the shortcut/quicklaunch. but that defeats the whole purpose of things--i don't want winamp showing on the taskbar, two winamp icons will take up too much space.
is there any way to tell objectdock to ignore certain window classes and not show them in the taskbar? this would solve my problem, i think.
