newbee-Downloading and saving ?
help,please

how do i do it ? download and save ? i've downloaded a few windowblinds themes to use at a later time and thought i put them in windowblinds, but when i go back to look for them their not listed. i just bought the disk last week. same thing with curserXP. HELP !!! thanks in advance

i didn't have object zip from object desktop installed before now i do and they seem to be going in just fine now. i was downloading both ways - through program and galleries. some things i try to download - like icons go to temp files. do i need to type in the files i want them to go to when they end up in the temp files ? sooo... they all don't go were their soposed to go on their own? i have a new Presario SR1230NX / 3200+ AMD Athlon XP processor. is this ok for working with object desktop programs ? thanks...again davidzzz

also tryed downloading widgets from site but they all went to temp files too. do i need to send to ( save to ) a certain location or should it download to the correct folder (program) on its own ? Thanks...davidzzz

The ones I download as 'save' I usually just send to my download folder (one for LEECH one for FIREFOX) or desktop, then open it later by either opening with the default program (Windowblinds,etc) or just unzipping if zipped and moving the file over to where it belongs (if the correct extension is in the zipped - else I end up looking at this again....Link

Thanks JourneyManC & bichur....I think I'm getting the hang of this now.(downloading & saving)What I'm doing is what you all said you do by downloading into a folder.That way at least I know were its at. Then for the widgets I use the extract too...then when that opens I browse to stargate\desktopX\widgets. I don't open the widgets file, I just click on it and say ok. They've been going in just fine. Well... I only downloaded 4 so maybe I'm just lucky...so far. I have not had the pleasure of renaming files or extensions yet. It seems though... from reading posts and articles on this site its pretty common. I dread it but I deal with it. With a little help from my friends... Thanks in advance...

Ok, so when you download them you same them to C: program files > stardock > object desktop > WindowBlinds and they are not there? Do you download through the WindowBlinds program or just by browsing through the galleries? (You should be able to do it both ways, but just asking). Also, what Operating system are you using?
