Boot Skin Program

Hello all!
First time user here but I LOVE the site and all that it has to offer!
I downloaded the BootSkin program hoping that I would be able to change my windows xp home edition's boot screen.
Hate to say this, lol, but I'm a newbie at this particular situation. Though I have vast knowledge in webprogramming and design, I need help when it comes to this kind of stuff
Would someone please help me to figure out why I cannot get the bootskin program to work? I downloaded it and installed it, that worked fine, I open up the program, works fine, but I cannot seem to be able to 'import' a skin that I download from this site into the program. I've looked everywhere, from this forum to the support files from stardocks, and nothing. I browse my folder that the skin is located in and I'm not able to 'see' the boot files. What am I doing wrong or what should I be doing to make this work?

If you have SP2, it is downloading files as a zip for some people, rename .zip to .bootskin then double click,
should then self install to bootskin.

I read that article, and though it was helpful, it didn't really help. I did however, manage to figure it out or at least by-pass the import parameter. What I did was download the desired boot screen, unzip it to a folder of my choosing, and then manually inserted the folder that held the image and boot file into the 'skins' folder of the bootskin program itself. So far, this has proven to be sufficent and works exceedingly well.
