"Attention" effect

Can it be extended??

Saturday, February 12, 2005 by salomaoabreu | Discussion: ObjectDock

Hi

I've found that the "attention" effect (for example when there's a new message in a minimized chat window) last for just a few seconds.

is there any way it can be extended?

That's because if for some reason we do not see the "attention" effect when it is shown we will never know there was a change.

Thank you a lot for your help

Depends of what IM client you're using. Trillian has a setting to control this. "Stop flashing after 10 flashes" I have that option turned off, so the attention effect lasts until I respond. Check the Preferences for your IM client, you may find a setting to do just what you want.

You can also download tweakUI from microsoft which allows the flash number to be changed. This should work if your IM client hasn't got the option like Trillian.
