Personal Icons

So i'm sitting at home after trying to persuade my wife what a good idea it would be to buy OD or at least Window Blinds (coz we are poor students) when I found myself looking at some of the personal icons. I really have no shred of artistic ability in my bones, but I would really like a personal icon that has meaning to my name. Perhapse I am not the only one who feels invisible to the forums in terms of graphic representation. Does anyone else feel like me? 
My question to the forum is "Is anyone willing to take on the task of helping me and people like me?" I understand that time is a commodity for some folks but if you are interested lets hear what you have to say

Hey SD. Thanks for replying. Yours is one of the Icons that I see and like! I'm pretty new to the site and I only downloaded GIMP today to try practising on pics to make logons and stuff, so 4 months is way ahead of me! What program do you use?

I'd be willing to help out on a project like this, as long as people realize you can only do so much with a 50x50 image.

Can you give us an idea of what you would like to have? A mechanical/techie looking avatar (like SD's)? An artistic looking one (like Koasati's)? Colorful? Dark? Give us some ideas, on colors you like and objects you like. Sounds like a fun challenge.

Well my name, Akoloutheo, is a greek word meaning "I follow" I would like it to be like SD's because i'm more mechanical/techie than artistic/academic. Its got to be clean because i'm training to be a Pastor and want to have it for a long time. Colour wise i'm not sure. What other info would you like about me or what suggestions do you have?

Wow! Both great Icons. If you could combine the two... maybe... i'm not sure how it works. If the cross were in the center of Koasati's circle with the droplet over the top of the cross but just under the T bar that would be incredible. And if the droplet were a red, ie blood, oh man, an Icon to be proud of! If that is okay with you both. I know it is more work...
