Really Strange Problem

I'm running desktopX and WindowBlinds with XP pro. Whenever I open exploer views of my folders and double click on a folder, it opens a new search window with the stupid mutt instaed of opening the contents of that folder. I've tried to reset to default folder views with no help. Tried unloading both DesktopX and WindowBlinds and no help so I'm not sure if it's related to either. I'm running the exact same setup on my home PC with no such problem. When I have a "open" or "Save as" dialog box with folders/files, I can click through folders as you would expect. Just seems isolated to explorer views. I have folders set to open in the existing window. Anyone see this type of problem before?

Only thing that comes to mind...what happens when you right click on the file / select open with / choose program / then select the program you need, internet explorer/ms word/ etc. Does the file open in the right program? or does the same problem occur? It sounds like your file / program association was changed. When choosing the program you want to open the file with you will see a "always use the selected program to open this kind of file" option. Check that when opening. Hope it helps you get close to the problem.

Try going to Control Panel>Folder Options>View. If the box that says "launch folder windows in separate process" is checked, uncheck it and apply.

OK, I didn't notice where you said that you had reset folder options to their default settings.

Link did the trick. Yes, when I doubled clicked on the file, it did open the proper app. It was just the folders.
