1st time Dock+ user, some questions and help

I really like this program and has great potential, but I have some initial concerns.
I like how the regular dock has the always on top or always on bottom. Which I choose bottom, so it's hidden until I need it and goes away when I'm done. Plus when I show desktop it doesn't get hidden. So it all seems fine.
Now comes the tabbed dock. It seems to opperate under a different system. My main complaint is that it doesn't have an always on bottom option, only on top. I don't want it on top all the time and if it's not on either always top or bottom, then when I show desktop it dissappears. I can still use my hotspot, but it will dissappear again until I bring something else up.
So that's annoying. Why can I get the regular magnify dock to stay on minimize with always on bottom, but i can't with a tabbed dock? Shouldn't the tabbed one activate and respond the same way a regular dock was designed, why did they change it so much?
Also, on the regular dock. I've tried the smoothest performance setting, yet it will pop or jump back and forth on magnify, yet I'm sure on on the non plus version I tried before buying it this worked right, were it zoomed and dezoomed smoothly. Should I try and reinstall it. I also made a sure I uninstalled the original when I installed the plus one.
