Hey Butch - just so you know maybe it isn't a good idea to promote msstyles on a windowblind site...

Tends to ruffle some feathers among some people...

Skinner kona0197 Thanks for the info, but I am not promoting it. Just telling the people where they can get a free blind if they want it. but seeing its already ported oh well..the wall paper is there anyways. Thanks again for the info.

That's promoting it alright, and if they want a free blind all they have to do is search throuch WC's library of 3311 of them.

There is nothing wrong with visual styles per say, it's the "software" used to apply it that's wrong. But since you can import them quite seamlessly to Windowblinds with Skin Studio, it's always nice to get info such as this.

Sure importing and converting is easy enough, but downloading the visual style is a risk in itself. Themexp is a breeding ground for unsafe downloads....loaded with spyware, adware, any kind of malware...hell those things are .exe's, that's just dangerous. How people can put their computers at risk like that to download from there is beyond me.

Thanks for the heads up (so I could get the WB that Doctor Nick linked to!). I am wary of .exe files when it comes to themes. I just won't download them.

Why would someone link to a file with bundled spyware in it? Do you really think you are doing the community a service? Kind of irresponsible dontcha think?

back off, kids! i'm sure butch wasn't aware that the msstyle had previously been converted to wb. if you've noticed, the blind isn't called 'racerx'. if he had searched for 'racerx', he wouldn't have found it. as for the .exe, you're not downloading it from themexp.org. files on lightstar's site are not full of spyware. the man was kind enough to provide the msstyle skin in an installer because some newbies don't know what location to extract the files to. i personally know lightstar. hell, we live in the same small community. when you download .exe files from stardock, are you worried about spyware being included? my guess is that you aren't. you're wary of .exe files on lightstar's site due to the reputation of themexp.org. don't lump every msstyle skin which has an installer into the same vein as the ones on themexp.org. it would be nice to have your facts in order before you start ranting next time.

The WOM's have never laid eyes on Lighstar but we've had dealings with him over the years. So as Snidley Whiplash has said, all people dealing with msstyles and themexp.org are not bad. Lightstar is AOK.

NOTE: The visual themes downloadable from this site are packaged as self-installing executables only to provide for ease of use. THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL PACKAGING DONE TO THESE INSTALLERS, NO SPYWARE, NO ADWARE, OR ANYTHING ELSE HAS BEEN ADDED.

Yup, your right Snidely. I stand corrected.

Heres a link to Hippys sweet version... https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=4272&LibID=1 It wasn't a port. Not sure which came first though. lol

No prob Snidely, I assumed and that was wrong.

I assumed as well. I didn't really assume it has spyware though, I just don't care for themes being .exe files. Personal preference, which I am sure you can respect.

That word "assume"...can make an "ass" of "u" and "me" - if we're not careful.
