I don't mind talking about this here, but not sure you would. To sumerize, though I've gotten an email from you, and one from me to me at the same time today...both had strange attachments...I was asleep at the time, 12:14pm so I know I didn't send the one from me to me...One of the letters read something like "Thank you for using our software" & the other was something like "Read the instructions first"....
I've since had computer problems resulting in 2 restore operations...then a few hours ago, I got the exact same 2 emails again, except for the time.
I'm asking that you NOT email me to discuss this becasue of the issues...
Sorry, for such a strange post, I thought about emailing you, but right now I'm staying away from my email...
Thanks,
TNBrat!

What I don't understand is how I sent the one from me to me....see I only have 1 actual email address...but like if I emailed you, you wouldn't see it, because I use a mail alias as my primary email address...so what happens is the alias has to go through the other to get to me....the email from me to me was from my alias to my "real" address?
Anyway, thanks for the information Hippy...I've not seen Martin yet, perhaps someone could get him the message...If you think it's necessary, that is...
Oh, and I wrote down the names of the attachments, is ther anything I could do with them that may help...like should I report them somewhere?

Run it and try to see if it can remove the virus.
If its a Virus AVG should find it. If its MAL-WARE I'd suggest getting the new MS Anit-Spyware or Ad-Aware or Spy-bot S&D.
Just some suggestions.

Someone who has both martin's and your addresses in their addressbook is virused up. Martin is probably getting the same emails. I believe the emails that are from you to you will show where they originate from....at least the server they're being sent from in the header info.

I've almost gotten to the point of Requesting all email have a private key (as simple as last name, first name in the subject line).
I'm going to here to do something soon.

TN Brat...it's a spoof email...and since you openned the attachments you will MOST likely be infected.
Your only solution is possibly an online scanner, as anything within your system will and MUST be suspect.

Norton stopped the email from even being downloaded to my computer until after it was cleaned...

The first set came right after I sent for some help from Stardock?
And this one came right after I activated my personal website here?
Each seemed to go along with what was going on...I needed help the first time and wanted to update my Stardock software and the emails said "Thanks for using our software" & "Please read the instructions"
And the one in the screen shot says
"You are now made active"
Is it possible that someone has hacked into things here...because it's rather strange that the emails seem to go right along with what I've done.?
