what is systat?

Thursday, January 13, 2005 by candy76man | Discussion: ObjectDock

I have a docklet that says to extract it to systat but it doesn't say what that is and I can't find it on this site, what am I missing here?

Also, I bought objectdoc plus and I added my "My computer" and "My network" icons to the dock but they won't open when I click on them, although I can right click and hit open and they will open then...how do I make them open with a single left click?

while I'm at it, the last problem I have is I need to know how to change the icons for system tray apps, I can't find a option to do it anywhere and the norton antivirus icon looks horrible in objetdock.

thanks for any help:)

Problem one: You can find and download Systats here: https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=4271&LibID=29 Make sure you install this first before you attempt to use any of the other Systats based docklets.

Problem two: This is more difficult, how did your create the shortcut on your dock? Using the dropdownlist in the 'DockEntryProperties' menu, or by dragging your shortcuts from the desktop to the dock? Try to do it both ways and see which one works. I once had a shortcut to My dial-up connection which did the same thing, but for some strange reason the problem corrected itself after a couple of months (I still haven't found out why though ).

Problem three: Just left-click on your icons and keep the mouse button pressed until a menu pops up. You can change your icon easily from there.

thanks man.....that took care of everything except for one

I like to have my workgroup and control panel in the quicklaunch tray too but there is no option to select those in the dock entry settings...how would I add those too it, they don't seem to be a normal shortcut because the target in those shortcuts just says workgroup or control panel....no path to the target is shown?

Hmm, the only way I was able to do that was by creating a shortcut to the control-panel on the Desktop (Double-click My Computer, then left-click and drag the Control Panel icon onto the desktop). You can then drag this shortcut onto your dock. However, you can not delete the desktop icon after you are done. You can always hide the desktop items though (Right-click on Desktop > Arrange Icons By > show Desktop Icons).

The same system would aply for your workshop icon.

But maybe someone else has a more elegant way to do this...

Is there a link to a post on this site how to configure Sys Stat. I am (to be honest) quiet lost with that thing. If nothing else I would like to have my CPU temperature displayed. Is it possible to have only one meter or do you always have to see the whole range (RAM etc..)

EDIT: Right---there is a help file and I know I need MBM program to monitor my CPU. Still, when I load a meter, I always only load one..and if I load the next, the one gets replaced, while screenshots here always show an array of meters active... Hm...not so easy... (or I am too stoopid)
