Malicious Software Removal?

I downloaded the microsoft update today. It installed 'Malicious Software Removal'. Maybe it was Spyware Removal. Anyway, has anybody got an idea what it does? There is no control panel app to configure it. No nothing

It's a commandline tool by the look of it. Doesn't check for many actual problems tho' (only about 10 or so).
