Downloaded Window Blinds

In the past when I downloaded a Window Blinds, it automatically went to the Window Blind Program. Now when I download them, they go to a zip file, then I have to extract them to the Window Blind File. After that, I can't seem to find them when I bring up the Window Blind Program. What have I done?
I'm a novice at this stuff. Jusst love this program.

rightclick -> save target as -> in the 'Save as type' box select 'all files'

SP2 has nothing to do with Linda's problem and I for one would appreciate that you, UzEE, would stop saying as much.
People can get confused enough as it is without such erroneous information being proffered as humor or otherwise.

I'm not saying this. Thats what I have heard. I never installed SP2 because of all its "threats"

It is indeed SP2. It has to do with windows converting the extension of 'unkown' compressed file types to zip extensions. Some people have run into the issue, others haven't. When I was using SP2, I did not have the problem. I read the actual explanation of why it happens somewhere, but blast if I can remember where or all the details. One thing to note some WB skin downloads actually ARE zip files. Often, an author will package additional stand-alone walls along with the actual wba. Normally, the author will note that in the skin's description. Snowman's solution most likely will make the file type 'known' to SP2.

hmmm...Perhaps I spoke too soon, as I have never run into the problem, but until this "rumor" is proven instead of hearsay, lets be a bit more careful when someone asks for help - not added confusion.

Yes, Windows SP2 includes a feature which "sniffs" the format of files, and may therefore decide that a file is a .zip file. This is a problem when WindowBlinds relies on skins being .wba to automatically execute them.

You installed SP2.
To fix this you should rename the downloaded file from a zip to a wba extension.
HOW: (Method 1 : Advanced)
1.)Download a WindowBlinds Skin and save on your hard drive.
2.)Open up Start Menu >> Run >> and type "cmd" or "cmd.exe" .The Command prompt appears.
3.)Navigate to the Directory where you saved the downloaded WB skin. TIP: if you dont have experience in command prompt then save the Downloaded Skin Zip file in he root of your C: drive. Then from command prompt type(Dont include the Double quotes) "C:" and press enter.
4.)rename the zip by typing "ren xxxxxxx.zip xxxxxx.wba". For example you downloaded GT3 WB Skin. then you should type "ren GT3.zip GT3.wba"
5.)Close command prompt and then just doubble click on the renamed WB skin to Install it.
HOW: (Method 2: Easy)
1.)You should have downloaded and saved the WB skin on your hard drive.
2.)Enable file extension display from folder options. ( Start >> Control Panel >> Folder Options >> View Tab and uncheck Hide Extenstions for known filetypes. Press OK )
3.) Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the WB skin and then right click and rename it.
4.) Change the name from XXXXX.zip to XXXXX.wba
5.)Double Click to install it.
