About Bootskin / Logon

Does anyone knows where is stored the original microsoft bootskin process (image and .ini ?) even in a file on hard disk and/or a key in the registry ??
Same question for the logon process

N.B: my 1st problem is the following (well my nephew one indeed LoL) : one bootskin skin has been applyed and for a reason that i don't know, even after going back to Windows default bootskin and coming back to load the bootskin skin, the image is all corrupted
. I tried different things, till uninstalling completly Bootskin (all folders + registry keys ), stop the PC (Win XP Family SP1) wait a full day, then re install Bootskin ==> if i apply the same bootskin skin, that one is still corrupted on boot process (but the preview image in Bootskin is OK ...) . So i think ther's might be something's wrong in the default Windows Bootskin process (it seems to me the bootskin processload twice, but i may be wrong ...)
My 2nd problem is a wrong image loading quickly beetween the bootskin process and the Logon process. Normally once can see quickly the wallpaper applyed after the session is opened, but in my case even if there's no Background selected for the session, i still get that silly image in the boot process ... >

Are you trying to say that a bootskin is corrupt.
or you cant change a bootskin.

Are you trying to say that a bootskin is corrupt.
or you cant change a bootskin.

UzEE, that's the displaying of the image which is corrupt on the boot sequence (even if the same skin is well displayed in the Bootskin program preview ...).
BUT, the most important for me is to find where is stored the original Windows boot process (file or registry key ?) fisrtly, 'cause i'm pretty sure the problem comes from there.

Yep, and as i said, i already try uninstalling Bootskin, delete all skins and files and all the c:\Program files\...\Bootskin folder, wait a full day, re-install Bootskin and the different skins, eveything's OK but the same ... that's why i ask where, the boot process is stored on the disk and/or in the registry, apart in the bootskin folder ...

if only one skin is corrupt then its the problem with the skin not windows. besides as far as i know the default bootskin is patched in the NT Kernel and the Logon in the LogonUI.exe and playing with them my be fatal for the system.

It can't be the skin which is corrupt because as i said, i uninstall the Whole Bootskin program and all stuff, boot and reboot many times, wait a full day before re installing Bootskin and re installing the different skins ...
Well well, the default bootskin in the NT kernel ? and where is that thing stored ? maybe i can replace it by another one from another same PC and OS ?

NT Kernel is in windows/system32. Watch out, I had a baaaaaaad experience messing with it.

dont mess with it. when bootskin gets installed. the bootscreen is then only related to the vidstub.sys not NT Kernel. I Think

i had a lockdown twice trying to run bootskin and i cant seem to get logon to function in any way, i install the new theme and it just doesn't register at all...it also had me running in safe mode for a couple of hours. the tricky thing is that the theme creator doesn't seem to have the capacity to run the format of these themes on this site. it wants a different kind of file, and you can load an xp theme all day, but it wont work. i have tried downloading several times and different themes, but it just doesnt seem to matter i rate bootskin at the top of my uninstall list, and logon is a close second. i have been impressed with the other stardock products, but these two aren't worth the trouble, who cares what logons look like, i see them only when installing new software/hardware anyway....later Overdrive
