Help!

Sunday, October 31, 2004 by Shyam Thakrar | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hey.. I want to run the LongHorn slate skin them but I also want to run an animated wallpaper with it that I downloaded from here. Is it possible to run an animated wallpaper while running a different theme?

Yes, you have to combine the 2 themes together and save as one. Animated wallpapers are deasktop x themes.

Well this seems to be a little help link for desktop X so perhaps someone will see this new guys cry for help . I have objects and widgets in my theme, but it only seems that the objects are saved with the theme, not the widgets, am I missing something obvious?

Thanks

maturegeek... Widgets are 'stand alone' objects, they don't require DX to be running. That's why they're not saving as part of your theme I suspect. Because they're not really part of the DX theme. One of the DX guru's may know different though.

I'm fairly sure that you can right click a widget and have it load at startup.

Yes you can do that Chas, but I think he wants to save the widget(s) with a theme.

If right-click on the systray icon and choose Import Object, rather than just clicking on the Widgets exe file, you can import the widget (you'll have to browse to find it) and save it with the theme. Next time you run the theme it should come up. Basically it's converting the widget back into an object.
