Downloads That Don't Work?

Thursday, October 28, 2004 by Nosferatu51 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I've downloaded a couple objects and themes and stuff that don't seem to have anything in the zip that Desktop or WB or anything seem to recognize. What do I need to do to enable these? Thanks for helping out a new guy.

If you open a zip and there are files inside then most likely your system changed the extension. This has been known to happen with SP2. Change the extension back after you download it. Windowsblinds should have the .wba extension. And DesktopX objects should have the .dxpack extension. Then, they should install fine.

I've got the same problem with several DX themes. Most themes I've d/l'd had the .dxtheme file and worked great. But other themes come with a bajillion files but no .dxtheme files

is this because the file as a zipped folder should never have been extracted?
