Sometimes things can get out of hand, its sad, but this is going way out of hand.

I find this really dissapointing.
If I upload a skin I want it to be judged on its qualities and NOT on me.
What did I do wrong? Tell me please? I was a regular here, had the time of my live on this site with its great people but seriously, what the fuck are you guys trying to do? get the fun out of skinning for me?
Skindicate?
Dangeruss and treetog? Dangeruss was ok with it... treetog wasn't,
WHEN I SENDED TREETOG ANOTHER EMAIL ABOUT THE SUBJECT HE DIDN'T FIND IT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ANSWER IT
In that case, I will just decide on my own.
They have never done any commercial thing. You wouldn't hear me complaining if somebody would start using styl skinner as its busines. And then that name has been an active username of me and their name is only.... A NAME.
They aren't active with it anymore, have no copyrights on it, have no trademarks on it... well, too bad then.
OK so this is what I am trying to say:
I love wincustomize, its a great site with great people. I know some of you don't agree with me but can we please act normal so I can atleast share my work here.... or do I have to go over to DA and just leave WC allone? Tell me, because if I stay I do want a little bit of respect and not every skin I upload to get a -2.
And how the hell can somebody go from Master Apprentice to Apprentice? explain that too please.

Window Borders
- Two different border styles being used....square corners on active frame and rounded corners with magic pink showing on inactive frame.
- Left side of frame does not allow enough room in green area for system icon. It causes the icon to cut into white by 5 to 6 pixels.
- Rollup doesn't work...really is a must have feature for any windowblind and doesn't require another button. Just set it up to react to right-click from the mouse.
Titlebar Buttons
- Help button for active state not skinned.
- Help button for inactive state not skinned.
Tool Window Borders
- Nothing to see here, because nothing is skinned here.
Controls
- Check Box using same state for mouseover and checked.
- Deprecated Checkbox image should be removed if it's not being used.
- ComboBox Button using deprecated unskinned glyphs for arrows.
- ComboBox Glyph image is missing....the reason for above.
- Edit border set to RGB 86 86 86 when every other border is RGB 159 229 89.
- Groupbox frame not skinned or using RGB 211 211 196
- Deprecated Radio Button image should be removed if it's not being used.
- Spin Buttom glyphs not skinned.
- Toolbar Gripper - Deprecated (WB3.x) being used. Should be using (WB4+), it has more flexible margin options.
- Tree View Expander not skinned.
XP Shell
- Logoff Dialog Buttons not skinned.
- "Created by the Skindicate"....didn't know that Treetog and Dangeruss created your Shutdown Dialog background.
- Task Pane...absolutely nothing skinned here.
- Special Folders....ditto, nothing skinned here either
Miscellaneous
- Not all colors set under classic colors
- Not all colors set throughout the skin
Start Panel
- More Programs Menu Background not skinned
- More Programs Menu Item not skinned
Taskbar
- Vertical taskbar not skinned
- When horizontal taskbar is single button high, which is default when skin opens, systray icons don't show and the startbutton is cutoff.
- System Tray Notification Arrow not centered on line between systray and rest of taskbar or it cuts slightly into the line. Either way it doesn't look right.
Desktop
- Margins not set for Classic Start Button

I would say a 2 rating is pretty fair at this point.

If I would change the name not a chance I will be accepted anyway so the point of changing is far out here...
Give me 2 weeks to considder, get the copyrights on a new name if we have one before then.... I will change ok thats clear for now but I do want to talk to treetog so I will send him some emails hoping he will reply. Give it 2 weeks, then cointinue your battle

No idea. I have to admit I still can't tell the differences between all the user levels. There was no mention on the admin board of a demotion, which is what usually happens when that occurs to someone.

Thats what you said the last time. You also said that you WERENT going to be using Skindicate. You specifically said that you had a new ORIGINAL name for your company. As of now, I can say three things: 1) I wont be downloading your stuff til you change your name. 2) I wouldnt download it anyways until your quality is higher. 3) Your attitude towards intellectual copyright is crap.
That about sums up my feelings on the topic. >

Frankly I'm not at all impressed.
It was STRONGLY suggested you NOT use that name....yet you specifically ignored it.
The Skindicate was/is three people.  The title/nick exists on this site as a Registered UserID.....also as a Stardock Customer ID.
It also exists on other skinning sites, and belongs to these same 3 people there as well.
They are the history of Skinning and digital art on many diverse levels/fields.  To usurp this name is clearly an attempt to cash in on their historical significance either blatantly or subversively, and cannot be condoned.
One particular member of The Skindicate is still very much active within the skinning community...and is commercially involved.
Should this name/reputation be diluted/diminished by association there will be a case to answer.
If one of the 3 individuals expressed negativity towards your use of the name, any decent, morally undiminished individual would have respected his wishes and chosen an alternative.

1) "What did I do wrong? [...] get the fun out of skinning for me?"
2) "WHEN I SENDED TREETOG ANOTHER EMAIL ABOUT THE SUBJECT HE DIDN'T FIND IT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ANSWER IT"
...versus:
3) "but can we please act normal"
#1 is a whine, #2 is a whine, all caps and an unwarranted assumption. Normal?
I'd say someone needs to take a chill pill and reread what he wrote before posting.
By the way, you can't "copyright" names.
If "The Skindicate" wasn't used professionally, you are free to use it. However, by doing so, you would show great disdain for 'tog and skindom in general.

Secondly, your swearing in your opening comment should have had this thread deleted or at least locked from the get go. You cannot sit and complain about not getting respect when you severely lack in give it.

I haven't been following the controversy.
But I did rate the skin very low (2 out of 10).
I have nothing against Styl Skinner. In fact, I made no note of who made the skin when i rated it.
I downloaded it and it was very obviously incomplete in some pretty basic ways. So my rating reflected that.

That shows a lack of judgment and some disrespect. You assume Treetog even got the mail. Perhaps something happened along the way, or he was having mail server issues at some point. Just assuming he ignored you, and then publicaly saying that is a slap in the face for Renato. Out of all the people I've ever comunicated with in this scene, he's always the nicest. Always takes his time to respond to anyone's queries, no matter who they are, or whatever reason it is.
The reason people are gettnig pissy is that the Skindicate ay have been a one-shot thing, but they did something very new and unique, when they created the largest suite ever made. They've influenced a lot of people, and helped them too, and for that very reason alone the respect is there for the name.
