ObjectDock Plus Problems

Thursday, September 23, 2004 by insekta | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hello, I recently purchased ObjectDock Plus and have run into a few issues. 1, it slows everything waaaaaaaay down. I have over a gig of ram, and new video card and yet it still hogs all of my resources. 2, when it is functional, I can't get the mouseover effects to work. Is there something I'm missing? Have I forgotten to adjust something on my end? Is there anything I can do to make this run smoothly on my machine? I'd really love to use this program. Thanks.

Hiya...the dock itself uses very little resources. One of the docklets that you have running may be causing the resource issues, try removing them and then adding them back, one by one until you find the culprit. In very early Beta's of OD+ there was some issues with resources, so make sure your using the latest release version available thru SDC (StarDock Central). Also you will have issues if you installed OD+ over the OD freeware version, the free version needs to be uninstalled first. The mouseover effects are only available in the zoomer (non-tabbed docks) and are configurable the the dock settings (right-click on the dock to access the settings).

Thanks! I'm downloading an update now, even though I just got it yesterday I'm going to see if that helps. I'm also going to rebuild my dock one by one like you said and see if there's anything sucking me dry. Thanks for the help.
