We are thinking about having a contest where people can submit skins. But we like to know what kind of price you would like to have if you are nr1.

We are currently hosting a contest at skinartistry for the best site logo. First place is $150.00. That is just for logos. A wb skin takes a lot more energy to complete so I would not expect too many entries based on a $25.00 first place prize. You might think about raising the award for first place. Obviously the higher the amount the more interest you are going to get. Personally I wouldnt invest a whole lot of time and effort in a skin for the chance at winnning $25.00. I would prefer to do it simply for doing it and sharing it with everyone else that likes it. I suppose it depends on the rules of the contest as well. If you just did something where people submitted skins, old or new you might get something happening. I am sure alot of people would upload there older skins for the contest. Maybe thats what you were thinking.

We put a lot of money in the website
The contest is a extra thing, and i think people would be happy with 25dollars on prizing... such as software from stardock or stuff like that.
I hope there are people that would like to skin for such kind of pricemoney... And i hope that there still are people making skins for the fun of it..
We might get people uploading old stuff but we try to filter those out.
About the type of contest e.g. Windowblinds/VisualStyle/WinampSkin/Logo/Icons we haven't decided.. we even haven't decided to do the contest, we're just asking around if we should do the contest and what priZes you would like to win..

nah, the prize should be 50 or at least 40. maybe 40 and a subscription to something?
Including old and new skins sounds like a good idea. The old skins should have a date where if your past that date then you can't put it in.
For example the contest starts inOctober on the first. so you can submit a skin that is old that was shown to the public if it after September 1. then you could also allow the author to maek a veriation of the older skin would be cool too. This way a popular skins, say M2 Toxic has a WinModify substyle then it could be entered in the contest.
For 40 dollars or less I think it should be allowed.

Wish I could offer some feedback Winmodify, But alas I'm no skinner just a lowly, run of the mill, a dime-a-dozen wallpaper maker, and WHO respects those?
