Tuesday, August 24, 2004 by sundreamer z | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Well I am using object dock, I also bought the orion icon. They are in : .ico format but the few orion in the install pack of object dock are in :.png format and they look better !

Is it uselles to change .ico format to .png with a soft ? I mean does the quality get better ? what soft can I use ?

Thanks !

No need to convert ico to png. Both work with OD. The quality will not improve by converting them.

Theoretically, the .ico format could be better quality because the author has the opportunity to provide several different sizes within the same file. With the .png format, ObjectDock has to generate all of the sizes on the fly, which may or may not look as good. It almost always looks just as good though.

Thanks !! anyway orion icons (png) that are in the package of od are looking sharper than the .ico orion icon I bought

Furthermore, with ICO's OD should give you better performance.
