Is This Possible?

Has there yet been found a way to actually change the start button's consistent positon on the start panel, or is it only able to be used in the positions that ae normal to windows? I wish i could put the start button and menu right in the middle of the start bar, and then have other things positioned on either side, would be more user friendly for my style of power using, and would make for a hell of a screenshot

It isn't possible with WindowBlinds due to limitations in the operating system. It could, of course, be done with a replacement taskbar through DesktopX or Objectbar though.

I've done something similar with HoverDesk, and PresStart, but the I can only get the Startpanel to popup in one of three corners, bottom left, top left, or top right (depends on where the Windows taskbar is before it's hidden). I don't think you can get the Windows Startpanel to open anywhere else, other than those 3 corners........

You could use an objectDock with the start menu docklet on it...or I think that theres an AveDesk docklet for the start panel too. Then use DX and objectbar to add the taskbar stuff on the sides of it. I've done that.

well, you could assign OB to accept the windowblinds skin....dunno about OD tho. I have an idea about that, but dont have time to explain at the moment.

Like MikeB314 said, with desktop X you could simulate any windowblinds task bar exactly and then just put the button in the middle. I have done it and it is much easier than you would think. What I did was make the entire taskbar image the switch for the start panel. If so desired you could simulate a start panel as well and have it pop up next to the start button in the center. You couldn't do it with the normal start panel cause that location is fixed.

Okay, that sounds like my best bet, but how is it done, these instructions are very cryptic, what is the procedure?

Dwatson, I would suggest this. Be patient for a couple of days. I believe Martin is working on a tutorial. No matter what that tutorial is about it will explain how to configure a DX object enough for you to understand the basics. The basics is all that is required. I have about 10-12 DX themes that I did. They are personal in design so there is no sense in sharing. Anywyas, it was the first stardock program I messed with. Once you understand how to configure an object the rest is a matter of graphic talent. Feel free to email me for help getting started but I have faith that Martin is whipping something up that will help out alot of people.

Ok, that explains it alot more thoroughly, I will be looking out for that tutorial....Now where o where can I buy some graphic talent...
