Anybody use Dogpile as their toolbar?

You know, one of the only reasons why I use IE is because of the useful toolbars. I love Google and is a mainstay on my explorer windows.
Then Frogboy talked about Alexa toolbar and now I have that. So it would seem that everything is all good, but then I come across Dogpile. The search engine is cool but I really like the RSS feed. I, of course, have it set to my own blogs as well as JoeUser and Modblog blogs, but I also have it sell for ZDNET and Downloads.com and some other news places.
The funny thing is that now that I have Joe User's Blog Navigator I seem to use that to browse through all the internet.... stuff I'll call it.
I also have MSN toolbar and have yet to install another toolbar that I can't remember the name of!
I really want to make my own Toolbar once my joeKnowledge Network goes fully on-line (years from now it feels like it will be finished...
)

what about the profiles? did they stay? and the password manager?

Okay Joe - on my laptop I did a more traditional upgrade. Uninstalled 0.9.3 taking the option to leave folders intact. When 1.0 installs it informs you of a few extensions/themes that need updating and asks permission to go ahead and update. Those it can't update it marks as disabled in order to make it obvious which you need to uninstall. Now as I just use the default setting for my profile as it's all I need, its difficult to tell you 100% that you'll be fine if you've got more than the one profile set-up as its out of my practical experience, but mine was unharmed and everything appears to be as it should. I couldn't tell you about passwords, I did a totally clean install on my desktop and I don't leave them on the laptop. I would have thought that all preferences and history are kept intact unless you instruct it otherwise during the initial uninstall or personally delete the folders manually.
I don't think there's any desperate need to upgrade so plenty of time to check it out in the forums if you wanna be sure and I think this is still the preview release and not the public release - so there's probably a few bugs to be ironed out yet.

Thats called data mining.

| Some of the sites objected to the fact that the Dogplie site (not the toolbar) collects basic webserver log information such as browser type, ip address, time, date, url requested. We use that kind of thing to count how popular our various services are. |
Thats called data mining.

I use Google Toolbar!!!!!!!!!!! Spybot says it's SPYWARE SAFE!!!

I understand, but it is necessary to managing a business. Its similar to Safeway noting that cheerios are selling, but raison bran isn't and deciding to devote more shelfspace to cheerios. We try not to be intrusive about it.

'Disclaimers' such as mentioned in #28 are not good enough.....leaving the product pretty safely in the 'spyware' camp, albeit overtly....

I just ran Ad-Aware and Spyware Doctor and it totlly took out Alexa Toobar and wanted to take out Dogpile (but I didn't let it)
Well, I actually like Alexa but now I am not to sure. Same with Dogpile.
As far as Viewpoint is concered, I am still trying to investigate that. Viewpoint is also the name of a toolbar. I am not sure if Viewpoint and AOL's Viewpoint is the same thing.
Anyway, now all the toolbars are messed up and I have to uninstall all of them.
But I'll tell you the ones I will keep:
