Problem with GIMP (maybe GTK+) and WindowsBlinds

Tuesday, August 10, 2004 by Sir Babyface | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I've installed GIMP to use for photo and image work. I've the latest version of WIndows Blinds 4.38b[d].002.

The problem is that the icons and menus don't redraw after I move the window. I don't know if this is a problem GTK+ or WindowsBlinds. The thing is, if I unload windows blinds, this problem doesn't appear.

Any suggestions?

I think WB and GTK don't play so well together.
Try excluding GIMP from being skinned by WB, and it should fix the problem.

I don't see the problem on my machines (one is 2000, other XP). Both use latest Gimp and WB.

The most I've seen is that occasionally the client area of a Gimp window won't redraw if it was covered by another window, which is then moved, but that happens (to me) infrequently. A quick rollup-rolldown or minimize-restore fixes the client area.

Probably wouldn't hurt to exclude it anyway.
