error message when using desktop x 2.1 gadgets

i download things made for desktopx 2.1 but when i go to install it it says that this was created using a newer desktopx it might not work properly with this version but the person who made it says it requires desktopx 2.1 i have desktopx 2.10 any help will be greatly welcomed and thanked
